TOWN OF WEST BEND 鈥 A 26-year-old man from Washington County died in a rollover crash Friday evening in the area of County Road Z, north of Dunst Drive in the Town of West Bend, according to Lt. Charles Vanderheiden with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies and West Bend Rescue were called to the scene of the accident at 8:21 p.m. on Friday. The first deputy to arrive found the vehicle had come to rest on the passenger side with the sole male occupant trapped inside. However, the occupant was not displaying any signs of life.
West Bend Rescue confirmed the occupant was deceased.
The sheriff's department's preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle was driving southbound on County Road Z (Kettle View Drive) when it gradually crossed over the northbound lanes and continued into the ditch on the east side of the road, where the vehicle struck a We Energies pole. The vehicle then continued south in the ditch where it rolled multiple times before coming to rest.
This is the third traffic fatality in Washington County in 2024, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The identity of the deceased individual is not being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
