SLINGER — Slinger residents came out to Community Park Wednesday night for the Slinger Parks and Recreation’s inaugural Oktoberfest in the Park.
The event featured not just live polka music, but also a performance from the United Donauschwaben of Milwaukee, a group that keeps the Donauschwaben heritage alive while promoting the language, foods and customs to the public at large, according to the group’s website. In addition to music and dance, the event featured plenty of German food and beer, including Spaten Oktoberfest on tap and landjaeger sausage, big pretzels and strudel tortes, just to name a few.
