TOWN OF FARMINGTON 鈥 A 73-year-old West Bend resident died after a crash on Sunday in the Town of Farmington.

The Washington County Sheriff鈥檚 Office said in a news release that it was notified of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH A and Trading Post Trail just after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Deputies along with Fillmore First Responders, Fillmore Fire and Newburg Rescue were dispatched to the scene, and a request for West Bend Fire Intercept was made upon arrival. According to the release, after emergency personnel arrived, the initial investigation found that a 73year-old West Bend resident had been driving southbound on Trading Post Trail and a vehicle operated by a 22-year-old Fredonia area resident was traveling westbound on CTH A when the two vehicles collided in the intersection. The westbound vehicle driver was transported to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton by Newburg Rescue with minor injuries, while the driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.

The release also mentioned that traffic was diverted from the area for an extended period while the Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit was on the scene to assist with the investigation, along with the Washington County Medical Examiner鈥檚 Office. The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff鈥檚 Office and no additional information is available at this time.
