MADISON — The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation announced recently that West Bend Sausage Plus received an Honorable Mention award at the Wisconsin State Fair for its bacon, which was auctioned off for $2,300 during the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction to benefit the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation.

"We’re so proud of Sausage Plus’s accomplishments," Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Executive Director Brenda Scheider said in a news release. "And we’re grateful that Wisconsin State Fair champion processors, like West Bend Sausage Plus, help us be able to continue our support of Wisconsin 4-H youth."

In total, nearly $130,000 was raised during the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction at the State Fair, which will support Wisconsin 4-H activities including 4-H conferences, teaching materials and workshops, and overall development of 4-H youth, according to the release.
