Frances Wiedmeyer

Frances M. Wiedmeyer, of Richfield, WI, passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 14, 2024, at the age of 90. Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James F. Wiedmeyer, in 2015. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. James鈥檚 presence in Frances鈥檚 life was a source of strength and support, and his memory will forever be held close to her heart.

A loving mother, Fran is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Paul Celley of East Troy, WI, Pamela and Kyle Rulau of Edina, Minnesota. She is also survived by three grandsons, Clint Moll of Denver, Colorado, Alex Rulau of Lakewood, Colorado and Christopher Rulau of San Francisco, California. Her grandchildren were the light of her life; she cherished every moment spent with them, watching them grow and thrive. Additionally, she is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, sister in-law, Evelyn Mueller of Hartford, WI, and many dear friends.

In addition to her devotion to her family, Fran was known for her love of her hometown Munising, Michigan. She loved to share stories about Munising and delighted in the fact that many people she met had visited the area and quickly agreed with her about the beauty and spectacular sights they experienced during their visit.

Born Frances Margaret Pinter on June 26, 1933, in Munising, Michigan, Fran grew up on Munising Bay and she spent much of her time on the shores of Lake Superior and on the water when she had the chance. She was the youngest child of Matthew and Veronica Pinter.听 She attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School through 8th grade; her high school years were spent at Mather High School in downtown Munising. After graduating she secured a job in the office at Kimberley Clark Paper Mill. While visiting her sister Vera in Menomonee Falls, a chance meeting with Jim Wiedmeyer of Richfield, WI, flourished into over 50 years of devoted marriage. Fran loved music and loved to dance; she took advantage of every chance she had to listen to live music and was quickly on the dance floor with Jim.

Fran will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her faith, and her zest for life. Fran loved to spend time with Jim tending to the grounds around their Richfield home. Friends and relatives often stopped in to visit with them and would spend hours talking at the kitchen table or enjoying the lovely views from their patio.

After Jim鈥檚 passing, Fran moved to Hartford, WI. Fran was blessed with amazing neighbors who quickly became dear friends and companions who shared many good times, laughs and fun outings together.听

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she leaves behind. A memorial service to celebrate Fran鈥檚 life will be held on May 31, 2024, at St. Gabriel Church in Hubertus, WI. Visitation at 10:00 am, funeral Mass at noon followed by luncheon in the church hall.听

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hubertus American Legion Post 522 in her honor, continuing her legacy of love and compassion.
