To the editor: As someone who has known Barb Dittrich for nearly a decade, I’ve been fortunate to see not only the work she has done publicly to help our community as our state representative, but also the silent work she has done behind the scenes to make our area a better place.
Prior to her election to the state Assembly, Barb was already serving others, founding and running a non-profit advocating for children with disabilities and chronic illnesses. When Barb decided to run for the state Assembly six years ago, I was proud to support her, and she hasn’t let me down.
Whether it’s her work chairing the Speaker’s Task Force on Adoption, fighting to expand funding for recovery high schools — which provide students wanting to be sober a place to be taught away from the negative influences in their lives, fighting to protect girls sports in our schools, or being the only legislator serving on the Office of School Safety Advisory Committee, Barb has passionately brought her love for our area and helping children to the halls of our state Capitol.
While I unquestionably consider Barb a steadfast conservative, what’s more important is I consider her a committed and vocal advocate for our community in Madison. I’m proud to vote for Barb Dittrich on August 13th and I hope you will join me.
