Violet Eva Frederich
March 22, 1921 - Aug. 22, 2024
Violet Eva Frederich passed away at the age of 103 on August 22, 2024. She was born on March 22, 1921, in the family home. Violet was the oldest of three daughters born to Louis and Lydia (Ullman) Jahnz. On May 10, 1940, she married Ewald Frederich, who preceded her in death on May 7, 2000. During their almost 60 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, Shirley and Wayne.
Violet deeply loved her family and was deeply loved by them. Whether a holiday or a brief visit, she enjoyed spending time with the family. A long-time member of Dr. Martin Luther Church, she enjoyed the quilting and seniors’ groups at the church. After retirement from the Oconomowoc School Lunch program, she and Ewald enjoyed gardening and even ran a produce stand. She was particularly happy when she was tending her colorful flowers and baking for anyone who might stop by.
Violet is survived by her son Wayne (Faye) Frederich of Oconomowoc; her granddaughters Rebecca (Peter) Moody of Milwaukee and Rachel (Scott) Johnson of Oconomowoc; and great-grandsons Logan (Krystal) Moody of Oconomowoc, Evan Moody of Milwaukee, Maxwell Johnson of Oconomowoc, and Alex Johnson of Oconomowoc. As well as many surviving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald; her daughter, Shirley; her sisters and brothers-in-law.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31, at the Pagenkopf Funeral Home (new location: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066). Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the service to follow. Burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia following a luncheon at the funeral home.
We would like to thank her caregiver, Betty, as well as the staff and volunteers of Rainbow Community Care and Hospice for all their compassion and care.
Memorials are suggested to Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc or Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek.
