Edward Lloyd Day

Edward Lloyd Day, known as Ed, passed away on August 13, 2024, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 26, 1936, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Jesse and William Day. Ed lived in West Allis, WI, until he was 9 years old. His family then moved to Mukwonago, where he graduated high school in 1954. He went by Lloyd Day up until he received a work permit while in high school.
He was an avid fan of Wisconsin sports, specifically the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was also a dog lover and always carried treats for family dogs.
He served in the US Navy from 1953-1959 as an Electrician Mate during the Korean War. He was involved in Operation Hardtack – hydrogen bomb testing in the Marshall Islands. He left the Navy at the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.
After his service, Ed worked as an electrician at Amron where he retired from in 1999 after 34 years.
Ed is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Frank) Galindo, son Lloyd (Janet) Day, grandsons Andrew Galindo and Frank (Jacquelyn) Galindo, granddaughter Amber (Robert) Warbelton, and his great-grandchildren Damian, Carson and Parker Galindo. Ed will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
The visitation for Edward is going to be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. until the start of services at 2:30 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., SMÌìµØÂÛ̳, WI 53188.
